    Q:
How to replace a Brake Disc on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
Brake linings should never be ground during disc replacement while brake parts must be cleaned with water to protect against asbestos dust dispersion. Apply a wet cloth to collect dust from brake components. Keep brake fluid away from painted parts and electrical pieces because it can harm them. Clean up any leakage with water before using a new cloth. First check brake fluid level in brake master cylinder reservoir and use proper tool to drain excess fluid if fluid level sits above the halfway line between maximum and minimum points. Put wood blocks below the Wheel Hub/Brake Disc assembly then take out the hub/speed sensor unit. Pull off the bolts that hold the Brake Disc to the wheel bearing/hub assembly and lift up the disc. Clean the surfaces between hub components before starting the work. Clear all rust present by cleaning both sides of the hub flange and disc before reinstalling the wheel bearing and Brake Disc unit. Set the wheel bearing/hub on the Brake Disc through the proper fasteners at their designated spots and abstain from applying paints or lubricants to the fasteners. Fit the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts in crosswise order and tighten them to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) then to 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). Replace the Wheel Hub assembly into the steering knuckle while lowering the car. Then check brake fluid levels before completing the job by braking on a smooth surface.

    Q:
How to replace the Brake Disc on 4WD on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Check the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir before replacing the Brake Disc. If the fluid is mid-way between high and low marks, no fluid has to be drained out. But if the fluid level is above mid-way, use a proper tool to remove fluid until it reaches the mid-way mark. Place wood blocks under the Wheel Hub/speed sensor assembly to support the Brake Disc assembly. After that, disassemble the Steering Knuckle and Wheel Hub/speed sensor from the disc. Take off the Brake Disc bolts from the Wheel Hub/speed sensor and disconnect the Brake Disc from the wheel bearing unit. Clean both mating surfaces for installation later. Place the wheel bearing/hub on top of the Brake Disc then install the wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts. Use a criss-cross pattern to tighten them first to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) and next to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). This process should be carried out on a flat surface without air tools. Install the Steering Knuckle assembly along with the wheel bearing/hub assembly and the Brake Disc on the vehicle. Then put the vehicle back down and test the brake system to avoid any equipment problems.

    Q:
How to Replace the Brake Disc on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Check the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level first to replace the Brake Disc. You need no brake fluid removal if the level stays between maximum-full and minimum lines but take some fluid to the midway point if it exceeds maximum-full. Position the Wheel Hub component on its suspension using two blocks of wood before taking out the Wheel Hub assembly. Use tools to separate the Wheel Hub/speed sensor bolt connection with the Brake Disc then remove the Brake Disc from the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly for cleaning of the contact areas. Everyone the Wheel Bearing/hub assembly on the Brake Disc and screw in its bolts. Start with cross-thread tightening to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) then re-tighten to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). Put the Wheel Bearing unit into the Steering Knuckle and place the vehicle back on the ground to check brake fluid levels. Finally, burnish the brakes.
