    Q:
How to replace the front door window regulator on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the front door Window Regulator begins with a trim panel removal before removing the inner panel upper bar. A soft-faced scraper will be needed to eliminate the water deflector. You should lift the window glass before applying body tape to secure the window position across the door frame for regulator removal. When power window functionality exists the power Window Regulator motor needs its wiring harness disconnected. A 6 mm (1/4 in) drill bit should be used to perform rivet heads extraction on the Window Regulator. You can remove the power Window Regulator by placing the regulator inside the door access then moving it forward and backward to release the arms from the sash and rail before combining the arms for extraction through the opening. To set up the new regulator move it into the access hole from the door until the Window Regulator arm rollers match with sash and regulator rail positions. Next step to push the regulator into the door opening to set the holes correctly. Use the heavy duty rivet gun (M 39010) to instal rivets onto the Window Regulator. If powered window capability is present install the wire harness to the regulator followed by placement of the water deflector and insertion of the upper panel bar. After removing window tape as well as door tape examine window functioning and fix the trim panel.

    Q:
How to replace the front door window regulator on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
As a first step to replace the front door Window Regulator you must remove the trim panel while taking out the inner panel upper bar then use a soft-faced scraper for the water deflector removal if needed. Place cloth-backed body tape over the top of the door from the window to the opposing side while rolled up before beginning Window Regulator removal. The power Window Regulator motor wiring harness needs to be separated from its connection. A 6mm (1/4in) drill bit should be used to remove the Window Regulator rivets heads before pushing the regulator into the door to untether power Window Regulator arms from the sash and regulator rail. Extract the folded regulator through the entry point of the access hole. To install the new regulator, push it through the access hole until the Window Regulator arm rollers insert properly into their respective mounting points. Then position the holes of the regulator to match the corresponding door holes. The secure mounting of the Window Regulator is possible through using the heavy duty rivet gun (M 39010) for inserting the rivets. If the gear has power functionality, attach its wiring harness and replace both the water deflector and inner panel upper bar. Proceed with pulling off tape from door and window while testing the window operation before placing the trim panel back in.
