    Q:
How to Replace Coil Springs on Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
The coil spring replacement process starts with vehicle elevation followed by support. Lift off the tire and wheel before using a proper jack to maintain Control Arm position. Begin by disconnecting the automatic level control air tube from the shock and afterward remove the bolts retaining the lower shock absorber. After removing the hex nut you must use the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) to disconnect the adjustment link from the lower Control Arm. Sustain the lower Control Arm while letting it drop against the support assembly. Use a pry bar to lift the lower Coil Spring Insulator and extract the coil spring alongside the insulator. You should pull down to extract the upper Coil Spring Insulator. Begin installation by first installing the upper Coil Spring Insulator to the body and then adding the lower Coil Spring Insulator into the Control Arm. When the coil spring fits correctly into the Control Arm's position raise the Control Arm to install both shock absorber retaining bolts with a matching torque of 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). To install the adjustment link into the Control Arm use a retaining nut to lock it into place with a torque setting at 50 nm (36 ft. Lbs.). The automatic level control air tube installation process ends with hooking up the air tube to the shock absorber while also installing the tire and wheel and finally lowering the vehicle.

    Q:
How to Replace the Coil Springs (FE7) on Cadillac DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The coil spring (FE7) replacement process starts by lifting the vehicle and providing support and finishing by removing the tires and wheels. First firmly support the Control Arm through the use of an appropriate jack before disconnecting the electronic level control air tube that runs to the shock. First remove the hex nut along with the two bolts holding the shock to the Control Arm then proceed to dismantle the hex nut. Apply the steering linkage puller tool (J 24319-B) before installing the coil spring compressor (J 44255). Use the support assembly to drop the Control Arm before you can remove the coil spring from the setup. Begin by placing the new coil spring inside the coil spring compressor (J 44255) with correct placement of the insulator into the Control Arm's seating. Ascend the lower Control Arm then bolt in the two shock mounts and torque them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Install the adjustment link on the Control Arm by tightening it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft) followed by an additional 180 degrees of torque. Reconnect the electronic level control air tube to the shock and reinstall the tires and wheels before securing the wheel nuts to 125 n.m (80 lb ft). Before lowering the vehicle check the toe then perform adjustments if required.
