Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

The replacement of the Fuel Level Sensor assembly begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Relief of fuel system pressure through the j 34730-1a fuel pressure gauge allows the Fuel Tank to empty of its content. Precise handling of the Fuel Level Sensor assembly requires avoiding contact with fuel pipes to prevent damaging their joints during Fuel Tank removal. Start by attaching the j 39765 Fuel Level Sensor lock nut wrench to eliminate the Fuel Level Sensor assembly retaining ring before you pull out the whole assembly including the seal and dispose of the old seal. The Fuel Level Sensor should receive cleaning treatment on its sealing areas. Setting the fuel strainer at a horizontal position during new seal installation for the Fuel Tank will enable the float arm to reach its maximum movement. The j 39765 Fuel Level Sensor lock nut wrench should guide users to mount the Fuel Level Sensor assembly into the Fuel Tank before applying the retaining ring. The procedure consists of putting back the Fuel Tank followed by refilling it while tightening the fuel cap before restoring the Battery Cable. The last check involves starting the ignition for 2 seconds followed by 10 seconds of shutdown followed by turning the ignition back on to detect any fuel leakages.

Place the new fuel level sensor in position and secure it with the retaining clip.

Drain the fuel tank and remove it, followed by the fuel sender assembly.
