Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

The service and repair process of the Fuel Level Sensor begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by relieving the fuel system pressure. The appropriate procedures must be used to drain the Fuel Tank depending on whether the vehicle is a pick up or 2-door utility. The service begins by taking out the Fuel Tank together with the fuel sender assembly before separating the connections on the fuel pump electrical connector and the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector retaining clip . The service process begins by releasing the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector under the fuel sender cover. This action allows removal of the Fuel Level Sensor retaining clip while you squeeze its locking tangs to remove the sensor. Install your tasks starting with the Fuel Level Sensor followed by its retaining clip and then proceed to the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector followed by its retaining clip before connecting the fuel pump electrical connector. Put back the fuel sender assembly as well as the Fuel Tank then top up the tank before returning the fuel filler cap. To conclude the repair process, reconnect the negative Battery Cable while conducting a leakage check by first turning the ignition on for two seconds followed by off for ten seconds before returning to on to inspect for fuel leaks.
