Lower Hinge, Front Driver Side

Begin by marking both the door hinge position on the front door and the hinge pillar and support the door before proceeding. Before removing the door hinge the first step involves unfastening bolts from both the door and hinge pillar sections. When installing the hinge place it at the positions marked on the door before fastening the door attachment bolts to a torque of 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Use the marks on the hinge pillar to locate the hinge before installing its bolts and proceeding to tighten them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). To complete the process remove the door support and assess whether the door is straight.

The first step for installing a new front door hinge includes creating reference marks on both the door and the hinge pillar followed by supporting the door. Start by unscrewing the bolts between the door hinge and door while also separating the bolts between door hinge and hinge pillar to extract the door hinge. Position the hinge following the door marks before securing all bolts that connect the hinge with the door while tightening to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). After positioning the hinge according to the marked points on the hinge pillar install its bolts before tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). To complete installation remove the support and verify that the door shows a proper alignment.

Mark the location of the hinge on both the door and the hinge pillar, then support the door.
