    Q:
How to Perform a Liftgate Hinge Replacement on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the liftgate hinges locate them with a pencil-marking method while keeping the liftgate in an open position. Take off the grommet from the upper right vehicle body corner and detach the electrical connector and washer hose. Unplug the electricity at both top left ports before pulling away the upper left grommet. Position your hands under the liftgate while letting it stay open and unscrew the liftgate assistance rods that attach to the top ball studs. Open the access panel doors in the header trim panel to reach the nuts that keep the liftgate hinge in place. Use support to lift the gate from the vehicle afterward remove the bolts attaching the hinges to the liftgate before disconnecting the hinges. Position the new liftgate hinges on the vehicle according to their location marks while adhering to all fastener safety guidelines. Utilize the bolts to attach the liftgate hinges to their locations and fasten all liftgate hinge nuts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Have someone assist you in replacing the liftgate while you fasten it with its factory-set nuts. Insert the header trim access doors then join both liftgate assist rods to their upper ball stud before taking off the liftgate support. Attach the upper left electric connectors then fit their grommet before joining electrical connections plus a washer hose to the right corner grommet installation. Finally, close the liftgate.

    Q:
How to replace the liftgate hinges on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before starting work open the liftgate to mark the hinge locations with grease pencil. You need to take out the grommet from the upper right side of your vehicle body before disconnecting both the electrical connector and washer hose. Move the grommet away from the upper left corner before unplugging both electrical cords. Steer the liftgate upward as you disconnect the liftgate support rods from their upper mounting points. Open the access panel doors under the header trim to take off the nuts secured to the liftgate hinge. Cooperatively take off the liftgate from the vehicle and detach the bolts locking the hinges to the liftgate before removing the hinges. Quicken installation by placing new liftgate hinges into the locations marked on the vehicle and fasten them to the liftgate using bolts before tightening the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). With support put the liftgate back in place and tighten its hinge nuts for installation. Put the access doors back into place in the header trim panel and reconnect the liftgate assist rods to their upper ball studs before taking away the liftgate support. Starting at the upper left corner connect both power connections. Place the grommet in its slot on the top left, then join the electrical connector and washer hose in the upper right corner before installing the top right grommet. Finally, close the liftgate.
