    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Hose in the Compressor Hose Assembly on Chevrolet Camaro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for changing the A/C Compressor hose assembly is recovering all refrigerant. The accumulator requires removal of its bolt which secures the A/C Compressor hose assembly and you should dispose of the o-ring. After disconnecting the negative Battery Cable from the engine block remove its nut and cable. Then raise and support the vehicle. Disassemble the A/C Compressor hose assembly by removing its bolt at the compressor and throw away the sealing washers. First remove the condenser nameplate A/C Compressor hose nut and dispose of the o-ring. Afterwards lower the vehicle to remove the A/C Compressor hose assembly. To install the new o-rings use mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil for coating before assembling the A/C Compressor hose onto its vehicle position. Rise the vehicle and support it properly then place a new o-ring before screwing the A/C Compressor hose nut to the condenser while tightening it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Position the new sealing washers along with the A/C Compressor hose assembly bolt before you tighten it to 33 n.m (24 lb ft). Install the negative Battery Cable onto the engine block while keeping the vehicle at a lower position then torque the nut to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Apply another new o-ring then install the A/C Compressor hose assembly bolt to the accumulator while tightening it to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). The last step includes evacuating the refrigerant system then charging it for leak testing with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
