Connector Hose

A proper replacement of the Fuel Filler Hose requires draining the Fuel Tank followed by securing the fittings to avoid contamination. After you remove the fuel filler pipe to fuel fill pocket bolts you can elevate the vehicle to uninstall the fuel filler pipe shield. First disconnect the vent pipe before removing the fuel filler pipe bracket bolt. Gather the Fuel Filler Hose from the Fuel Tank before disconnecting the fuel filler pipe along with its hose. Start the installation by placing the Fuel Filler Hose onto the Fuel Tank while making sure the fill hose reaches the entire stop on the tank. Afterward you can tighten the fuel filler pipe clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). After joining the vent pipe install the fuel filler pipe bracket bolt by tightening it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The vehicle must first be lowered and then the fuel filler pipe shield can be reinstalled while securing fuel fill pocket bolts to the fuel filler pipe. The final steps involve filling up the Fuel Tank before securing the fuel filler cap. Because the Fuel Tank maintenance is finished we need to reattach the negative Battery Cable while conducting a fuel leak inspection.

Draining the Fuel Tank should be the first step before starting replacement of the Fuel Filler Hose. Begin by draining the Fuel Tank and then remove the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pocket bolts and raise the vehicle before proceeding. Unfasten the retainers which secure the fuel fill pipe shield and extract the shield. Start by removing the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt after disconnecting its vapor recirculation pipe using the quick connect fitting from the Fuel Tank vapor recirculation hose . Detach the fuel fill hose from the Fuel Tank by loosening its clamp before extracting it from the Fuel Tank. Start the replacement process by positioning the fuel fill pipe assembly correctly before connecting the hose to the Fuel Tank. Secure the fuel fill hose clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) and connect the quick connect fitting of the vapor recirculation pipe to its dedicated hose. The fuel fill pipe needs its bracket bolt to be installed before securing it at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). After securing the fuel fill pipe shield along with its retainers, lower the vehicle while securing the fuel fill pipe to the fuel fill pocket bolts through torque tightening to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Replenish the Fuel Tank before securing the fuel fill cap and examining for fuel leakages.

Reinstall the fuel fill pipe shield and its retainers, lower the vehicle, and secure the fuel fill pipe to fuel fill pocket bolts, tightening them to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

Remove the fuel filler pipe bracket bolt and disconnect the vent pipe.
