    Q:
How to replace the Power Steering Hose Outlet on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacement of the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose commences with raising and supporting the vehicle and removing the front air deflector. Position a drain pan under the car before proceeding to unscrew and remove the power steering gear outlet hose retaining bolt and detach the power steering outlet hose from the Power Steering Cooler unit. The next step includes power steering line removal from power steering gear bolt retention before disconnecting the power steering outlet hose from the power steering gear unit. The return power steering line must also be detached from the car body. The first step of installation includes plumbing the power steering gear outlet hose towards the power steering gear but keeping it attached to the vehicle. Fasten the power steering hoses onto the power steering gear retaining bolt while securing it at 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). After connecting the power steering gear outlet hose to the Power Steering Cooler you should install the power steering gear outlet hose to frame retaining bolt and tighten it to 4 nm (40 inch lbs.). Safely dispose of the drain pan before putting back the front air deflector while lowering the vehicle then starting the power steering system bleeding process.
