    Q:
How to replace the rear brake line for disc brakes on Buick Terraza? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the rear brake hose for disc brakes, first, lift and securely hold the automobile, and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Clean all dirt from the brake hose and brake pipe fittings, and plug the exposed brake pipe fitting to prevent fluid loss. Use a back up wrench to break free the brake pipe fitting from brake hose, making sure not to damage the brake pipe or bracket. Pull with a flat-bladed tool the brake hose retainer clip ; then to free the brake hose from the bracket and from the brake caliper, remove the brake hose bolt . Remove the damaged gaskets on the two copper brake hose gaskets which can be adhered to the caliper or hose end, and insert a rubber plug crushed in the brake hose bolt hole to prevent fluid leakage. For installation remove rubber plug and install new copper brake hose gaskets with the brake hose bolt to the brake hose and braked to brake caliper in 43 nm(32 ft.lbs). Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked, in line with the notch in the bracket, install the brake hose retainer clip . Unscrew the cap of the brake pipe fitting and attach it to the brake hose, tightening to 21 nm (15 ft. Lbs) while not bending the bracket or pipe. Lastly, bleed the brake system, people the tire and wheel assembly, and lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the brake line using the J 45405 Pipe Flaring Tool Kit on Chevrolet Uplander? Posted by Customer
    A:
For replacing the brake pipe, you will need to use J 45405 Pipe Flaring Tool Kit (J 45405) and make sure you adhere to safety instructions concerning brake fluid irritants. Always use double-walled steel brake pipe to ensure that brake system does not fail and route and secure the replacement pipes correctly with the right fasteners. While servicing, inspect the length of the brake pipe to be replaced and release it from retainers. Measure the amount required for replacing, adding 6.35 mm (0.250 in), for flares on 4.76 pipes mm (3/16 in) diameter. Cut the pipe neatly using the pipe cutter from the J 45405 remove the nylon coating off from the two ends using the right blade from the J45405. Chamfer the pipe ends using the de-burring tool supplied with the J 45405, install the tube nuts, and wipe the pipe and tool free of any contaminants. Loosen the die clamping screw of the J45405, choose and install the appropriate die set and prepare the pipe for flaring. Operate the tool to shape the flare from the right shape and diameter - 7.10 mm (0.279 in) +/- 0.18 mm(0.007 in) of the 4.76 mm(3/16 in) diameter pipe. Form the new pipe to fit, maintain 19 mm (3/4 in) clearance of moving components, and install them with the right unions. Finally, hook up the brake pipe to the retainers, bleed the hydraulic brake system and check for leaks applying brakes.
