Start by elevating the vehicle then support it when performing Steering Knuckle service and repairs. Start by taking off both the tire and wheel from the front of the vehicle. When your vehicle has an antilock brake system you must disconnect the abs wheel speed sensor by taking out one bolt then putting the sensor to the side. Start by removing the front brake hose bolt and the hose from the strut before you remove one bolt and both nuts from the lower Control Arm. Service technicians should remove the drive axle drive shaft nut retainer and coffer pin while an assistant operates the brake pedal manually. Brake components that extend beyond flexible hoses should never be supported to protect hose integrity. Tear down the front brake caliper housing alongside Brake Caliper Bracket then wire suspend the caliper housing to prevent brake hose damage during the process. Keep the boot and inner oil seal intact while steering clear of rotor damage to the speed sensor of abs vehicles. Typically, you should remove the brake rotor then analyze the Steering Knuckle for bearing backlash combined with hub deviation. You should loosen the strut assembly lower-side nuts but keep the bolts in place. Use the universal steering linkage puller (J24319-B) to disconnect the outer tie rod from the knuckle once you remove its coffer pin and outer tie rod nut. Start by removing the two lower side bolts and nuts from the strut assembly, which permits Steering Knuckle removal together with the attached hub. Place the Steering Knuckle inside a soft jawed vise for clamping it down. Maintain appropriate caution when you need to remove the Steering Knuckle for bearing and seal access. Begin Steering Knuckle replacement by using the Steering Knuckle cotter pin removal tool to remove the pin and ball stud nut from the knuckle. Then use a universal steering linkage puller (J24319-B) to extract the ball stud from the Steering Knuckle for removal of the Wheel Hub, bearing, and seal. Start by clamping the Steering Knuckle in a soft jawed vise before installing the Wheel Hub with its bearing and seal onto the Steering Knuckle. Drive the ball stud onto the Steering Knuckle then fasten the assembly with the ball stud nut at a torque setting of 124 nm (91 ft. Lbs.). Put the cotter pin through the ball stud nut. Put the Steering Knuckle containing the hub into a soft jawed vise before you coat the threads of the two lower side strut nuts with engine oil. Fasten the Steering Knuckle along with the hub and two bolts and two nuts to the strut assembly's lower side but do not tighten the fittings. Secure the outer tie rod to the Steering Knuckle through the outer tie rod nut while applying force of 49 nm (36 ft. Lbs.) before inserting the cotter pin. The pin alignment requires additional 1/6 turn or maximum 70 nm (52 ft. Lbs.) tightening effort. Thread the cotter pin through the opening on the tie rod stud. Insert the front brake rotor after checking Steering Knuckle bearing backlash and hub deviation. Reinstall both the brake caliper housing and the caliper bracket. While an assistant keeps pressure on the brakes, tighten the drive shaft nut to 225 nm (166 ft. Lbs.). Add the drive shaft nut retainer and its associated cotter pin before mounting the Control Arm components to tighten the single bolt and two nuts at 142 nm (105 ft. Lbs.). Use a torque wrench to tighten the two strut bolts and nuts at the assembly's lower section to 203 ft. Lbs. (274 Nm). Mount the front brake hose followed by a bolt installation before torquing the bolt to 29 nm (22 ft. Lbs.). Install the abs wheel speed sensor onto the knuckle and tighten one bolt to 8 nm (71 inch lbs.) then reinstall the tire wheel assembly, lower the vehicle and check the front wheel alignment.

Ensure that brake components do not hang from flexible hoses to prevent damage.

Remove the drive shaft nut.
