Starting the hood latch replacement requires opening the hood followed by removing the upper fascia support. Apply a grease pencil to mark the hood latch placement on the support bracket before using tools to remove hood latch bolts and eliminating the release cable connection from the hood latch with cable retainer squeeze. The hood latch needs removal from inside the car. You should attach the hood latch release cable to the hood latch while sitting it in position based on the marks on the support bracket. Fasten the hood latch bolts by keeping the latch fully extended. Settling the hood into position at the fenders and opening it up allows for bolt tightening to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Proceed with hood adjustment before starting the installation of fascia support while finalizing the closing of the hood.

You must start by opening the hood and taking off the upper fascia support before changing the hood latch. Apply a grease pencil marker to the hood latch spot on the support bracket before you remove its bolts. To start the hood latch replacement disconnect the hood latch release cable using the cable retainer squeeze method and handle the remote start electrical connector if vehicle setup enables this feature. The hood latch should be taken out of the car. The hood latch release cable should be connected to the hood latch while you position it at the marked spots of the support bracket. To complete the installation bolt the hood latch into place with proper up position and securely fasten with torque until the bolts reach 10 N.m (89 lb in) measurement. Reposition the hood toward the fenders after plugging in the remote start electrical connector when enabled. You should tighten the hood bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in) while opening the hood. Put the hood into position if needed before you install the fascia support and close the hood.
