    Q:
How to replace the rear side door check link on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the replacement process for the rear side door check link requires removing the door inner trim panel and the rear door water deflector followed by checks and bolts of the check link and its separated removal from the door. You must first remove the check link bolt and nuts from the check link before you take out the check link from the rear door. The installation of the new check link requires proper positioning of its R and L markings so that R points upwards for the right side and L points upwards for the left side. Install the check link inside its position in the rear door before attaching the rear door check link nuts securely to 10 N.m (89 lb in). First install the front door check link bolt following the procedure to achieve 9 N.m (80 lb in) torque. To finish the installation replace the already mentioned components which include the rear door water deflector alongside the door inner trim panel.

How to replace the rear door check link on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the rear door check starts by removing the door inner trim panel and rear door water deflector. The first step involves removing the check bolt coupled with nuts before you separate the check from the rear door. Install the new check while maintaining proper orientation of its R and L markings which should have R facing upward for right-hand installation and L facing upward for left-hand installation. Secure the check in the rear door before installing its nuts where torque should reach 10 N.m (89 lb in). Next install the front door check bolt so that it achieves a torque strength of 9 N.m which equates to 80 lb in. Put back the rear door water deflector followed by installation of the door inner trim panel.
