Door Check, Rear Lower

A door check replacement requires first opening the door followed by removing the door trim panel together with the door module and water deflector. Start by removing the check to pillar fasteners together with the close-out grommet and check to door fasteners and finish by taking out the door check from inside the door. Installation requires users to insert the check into the door followed by passing the check studs through the available holes in the door inner panel while paying attention to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Fasten the check to door fasteners at 9 N.m (80 lb in) then mount the check arm on the door hinge pillar fasteners at 9 N.m (80 lb in). Reinstall the door components by putting back the close-out grommet then follows with water deflector and finally door module as well as door trim panel.

The door check replacement process starts by opening the door before removing the door trim panel and door module and water deflector. The check must be detached from pillar fasteners, close-out grommet, and door fasteners before removing the door check which resides within the door. Insert the check into the door before passing the check studs through the access holes on the door inner panel following procedures from Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Modify the check installation by tightening its fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in) before installing the check arm to the door hinge pillar fasteners which should be tightened to the same torque specification. Reinstall the door trim panel together with water deflector, door module and close-out grommet in the correct order.
