    Q:
How to replace the intake manifold on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
It is an opportunity to change the Intake Manifold, i.e., start by detaching the Throttle Body, the battery box, the oil level indicator and tube, and disconnecting the brake booster hose for the brake booster. Next, remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector and MAP Sensor wiring harness retainer from Intake Manifold. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) dirty air tube from the camshaft cover, disconnect the generator and the engine wiring harness retainer from the Intake Manifold. Pull off the two bolts on the top that attach the engine wiring harness bracket to the Intake Manifold, lift and support the vehicle sufficiently to be able to access the remaining components through the wheelhouse, remove the left front wheel and wheelhouse liner, then. Unhook the wiring harness retainers for Battery Cable, engine (4, 6) and MAP Sensor then remove the remaining engine wiring harness bracket and pull the bracket out through the wheelhouse opening and removing the bolt. Lower the vehicle, unbolt the Intake Manifold bolts, and peel off the Intake Manifold from the cylinder head. Replace old seal and mask off the open ports to the cylinder head to prevent the entry of foreign objects into the engine. Clean and inspect the Intake Manifold first before fitting a new seal into the Intake Manifold groove and fitting it onto the cylinder head. Lift up the vehicle once more to reach Intake Manifold bolts, engine wiring harness bracket bolts, and wiring harnesses. Install the Intake Manifold bolts by tightening them from within to 10 nm (89 inch lbs) and put the engine wiring harness bracket onto the engine and harnesses then put the bracket present onto the said bracket by installing bracket bolts that must be tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs). Snap retention for the wiring harnesses: battery cable, engine(4,6), and MAP Sensor, onto the engine wiring harness bracket, then install the left front wheelhouse liner, and left front wheel before lowering the vehicle. Connect the engine wiring harness retainer to the Intake Manifold, attach the generator, and attach the pcv dirty air tube to the camshaft cover. Lastly, connect begin the MAP Sensor wiring harness retainer and electrical connector, reconnect the brake booster hose, install the oil wish indicator and tube, battery box, finish installing the Throttle Body.

    Q:
How to replace the intake manifold on GMC Canyon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Initially remove all components including Throttle Body then disconnect battery box along with oil level indicator and tube as well as remove Brake Booster hose from Brake Booster and detach MAP Sensor electrical connector and MAP Sensor wiring harness retainer from the Intake Manifold. You need to detach the pcv dirty air tube from the camshaft cover followed by removing the generator and disconnecting the engine wiring harness retainer from the Intake Manifold . Elevate and hold the vehicle at a necessary height to reach components through the wheelhouse. Then remove the upper bolts securing the engine wiring harness bracket to the Intake Manifold. Disassemble the left front wheel together with its wheelhouse liner before you disconnect the Battery Cable, engine (4, 6), and MAP Sensor wiring harness retainers from the engine wiring harness bracket. After removing the last bolt from the engine wiring harness bracket proceed by pulling it out through the wheelhouse opening. Begin by removing the Intake Manifold bolts before lowering the vehicle to separate the Intake Manifold from the cylinder head. Remove the old seal before applying masking tape to cover the open ports of the cylinder head to stop foreign materials from entering the engine. First cleanse the Intake Manifold then install a new seal into the Intake Manifold groove and put the Intake Manifold into position on the cylinder head. Next raise and support the vehicle until you can reach the manifold bolts and engine harness bracket bolts and wiring harnesses. Install the Intake Manifold bolts, tightening them from the inside out to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.)after installing the bracket to the harnesses and engine follow steps by securing the bolts to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Fasten the Battery Cable and engine (4, 6) and MAP Sensor wiring harness retainers to the engine wiring harness bracket prior to reinstalling the left front wheelhouse liner and left front wheel when the vehicle is lowered. Connect engine wiring harness retainer through the Intake Manifold before generator installation and pcv dirty air tube attachment at the camshaft cover. First, install the Brake Booster hose to its location followed by reattaching the MAP Sensor wiring harness retainer with electrical connector. Complete the installation by reconnecting the oil level indicator and tube and re-installing the battery box and Throttle Body.
