Intake Manifold

The first step to replace the upper Intake Manifold includes taking out the fuel injector sight shield and air cleaner outlet duct and Intake Manifold insulator. The technician would first pull the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge line from its position then move it to a safe spot and proceed by disconnecting the pcv line at the Intake Manifold top. Start by disconnecting the Intake Manifold tuning valve's electrical connector after removing the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and electronic throttle control (ETC) electrical connector. Remove the bracket retaining bolt which supports the engine harness then unplug the map sensor electrical connector. First install the retaining bolts of the upper intake then remove both the upper intake and gasket but throw away the gasket. To replace the upper Intake Manifold you must remove three components including the evap purge solenoid valve, Intake Manifold tuning valve, and Throttle Body. Position upper Intake Manifold gaskets onto the lower Intake Manifold before securing each one with fir tree retainers. Declare the upper Intake Manifold position before you threadlock the bolt threads and tighten the upper Intake Manifold bolts to 23 n.m (17 lb ft). Install the Throttle Body and both the Intake Manifold tuning valve and evap purge solenoid valve when doing upper manifold replacement. First attach the map sensor electrical connector followed by installation of the engine harness bracket retaining bolt and connector of the etc electrical connector . The service process includes joining the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and connecting the Intake Manifold tuning valve electrical connector while also reconnecting the pcv line to the top of the Intake Manifold. When ending your work finish by connecting the evap canister purge line then add the Intake Manifold insulator followed by the air cleaner outlet duct and ending with the fuel injector sight shield.

Start by removing the Fuel Rail and injectors when replacing the lower Intake Manifold. Begin by unscrewing all the lower Intake Manifold bolts and then remove the lower Intake Manifold together with its gasket from the engine while discarding the gasket. Begin by cleaning both the Intake Manifold and all sealing surfaces. During installation you must first mount the new lower Intake Manifold gasket before tightening the lower Intake Manifold bolts. Follow the fastener notice before you reinstall the fuel injectors and Fuel Rail. Tighten the bolts using a torque to 23 n.m (17 lb ft).

Begin your upper Intake Manifold replacement by removing the fuel injector sight shield followed by the air cleaner outlet duct and then the Intake Manifold insulator. Start by cutting off the evap canister purge line then secure it in place before separating the pcv line from the Intake Manifold top. Start by cutting the power to the Intake Manifold tuning valve and unfasten the brake vacuum hose. Disconnect the etc electronic throttle control connector. Completely remove the bracket bolt that fastens the engine harness before cutting out the electrical connector that links to the map sensor. Begin the removal process by disconnecting the upper Intake Manifold retaining bolts to extract both the upper intake and gasket and discard the used gasket. When you replace the upper Intake Manifold you need to remove the evap purge solenoid valve, Intake Manifold tuning valve, and Throttle Body. Secure upper Intake Manifold gaskets on the lower Intake Manifold by using fir tree retainers. Use threadlock on upper Intake Manifold bolts before attaching the upper manifold where torque should reach 23 n.m (17 lb ft). You should install the Throttle Body and Intake Manifold tuning valve and evap purge solenoid valve after upper manifold installation. Many steps remain to finish the Intake Manifold installation. After map sensor electrical connector reconnection, install engine harness bracket retaining bolt then connect etc electrical connector. The installation process involves reattaching the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose to the Intake Manifold then connecting the manifold tuning valve electrical connector alongside the pcv line to the top of the Intake Manifold and the evap canister purge line. Construct the Intake Manifold insulator and attach both the air cleaner outlet duct along with the fuel injector sight shield.

The replacement process starts with the removal of fuel injectors and Fuel Rail and then continues with the removal of lower Intake Manifold bolts. You need to remove both the lower Intake Manifold and its gasket from the engine before discarding the gasket. Before installing a new lower Intake Manifold gasket you should clean and check both the Intake Manifold and sealing surfaces. After finishing with the lower Intake Manifold bolts application you should reinstall the Fuel Rail together with its fuel injectors. Proceed to torque the bolts at 23 n.m (17 lb ft).
