The en 46106 flywheel holding tool (EN 46106) should be installed through the Starter mounting hole followed by lowering the engine two inches using the engine support fixture (J44691-B). Begin by taking out the crankshaft balancer bolt then place the j 38416-2 crankshaft button (J 38416-2) into the crankshaft nose. The j 41816 crankshaft balancer remover (J 41816) enables you to pull off the crankshaft balancer by tightening its center bolt and extract the tool. Install the en 46106 to the flywheel then use the j 41998-b crankshaft balancer installer (J 41998-B) alongside a bearing and washer and a nut to manually install the crankshaft balancer and avoid sealing surface lubrication. Begin by lubricating the balancer hub bore on the inside then attach the balancer to the crankshaft followed by a correct installation of the j 41998-b into the crankshaft until at least ten threads are present before pressing the balancer into position. Use a wrench on the j 41998-b to tighten theequipment until the large washer rests against the end of the crankshaft then remove the installer tool. The j 45059 tool helps to tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt up to 100 n.m (74 lb ft) followed by an additional 150 degree turn. Complete the process by uninstalling the en 46106 then replace the Starter and lift the engine with the support fixture before reattaching the engine mount strut bracket together with the Drive Belt. The replacement process of the crankshaft balancer starts by removing the accessory Drive Belt first. Second step involves raising the vehicle for support. You should use the Harmonic Balancer puller (J 41816-A) to extract the crankshaft balancer. The replacement process requires installation of the crankshaft balancer followed by accessory Drive Belt reinstallation before lowering the vehicle.

You must start the crankshaft balancer replacement process by taking out the Drive Belt and engine splash shield. You should install the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) together with a breaker bar to the balancer before starting to loosen the balancer bolt. Following the removal of the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) and breaker bar, the crankshaft balancer should have its bolt discarded before the balancer is taken off. The new crankshaft balancer needs to be positioned before inserting the crankshaft balancer bolt. The installation procedure requires a breaker bar combined with the Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) for bolt torque to 100 n.m (74 lb ft) when measuring with the angle meter (J 45059). As a concluding step replace the engine splash shield and the Drive Belt.

The crankshaft balancer replacement process begins with uninstallation of the engine mount strut bracket and the Drive Belt and the Starter. The en 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) requires insertion into the Starter mount hole followed by right frame support with jackstands. The technician should remove right side frame reinforcement bolts followed by loosening right side frame bolts while lowering the frame down about 2 inches. Prior to removing the crankshaft balancer bolt, place the j 38416-2 (Crankshaft Button) in the crankshaft nose and use the j 41816 (Crankshaft Balancer Remover) to pull off the crankshaft balancer from the crankshaft. While installing the crankshaft balancer use the j 41998-b (Crankshaft Balancer Installer) and its required components but avoid oiling the seal areas or front oil seal of the crankshaft. Lubricate the internal bore of the crankshaft balancer hub before aligning the balancer with the crankshaft and threading the j 41998-b until it engages at least ten threads before pressing the balancer into position. Screw the j 41998-b until the large washer sits firmly against the crankshaft end before discarding the j 41998-b. At this point, thread in the crankshaft balancer bolt and secure it first to 100 nm (74 lb ft) and complete the process by turning it 150 more degrees using j 45059. Install the Starter after en 46106 removal while using engine support fixtures to raise the engine. Then mount the strut bracket before applying the Drive Belt.

The crankshaft balancer replacement procedure needs the removal of four essential components: Engine Mount strut bracket, front Engine Mount, rear Engine Mount, starter. Lower the engine to a two-inch point by using the engine support fixture (J44453-B) while you have the en 46106 flywheel holding tool (EN 46106) installed through the Starter mounting hole. The procedure starts by uninstalling the crankshaft balancer bolt after which the j 38416-2 crankshaft button (J 38416-2) is inserted into the crankshaft nose so you can install the j 41816 crankshaft balancer remover (J 41816) to extract the balancer from the crankshaft. The installation procedure involves putting the en 46106 on the flywheel followed by j 41998-b (J 41998-B) and nut procedures for the crankshaft balancer with no seal lubrication for crankshaft front oil or sealing parts. Place the crankshaft balancer on the shaft and thread the j 41998-b until the tool reaches at least 10 threads into the balancer hub bore. After this, apply pressure for the installation of the balancer. After the j 41998-b reaches the large washer butts against the crankshaft end use it to drive out the j 41998-b. Then install the crankshaft balancer bolt with 100 n.m (74 lb ft) torque followed by 150 degree additional tightening with j 45059. The procedure requires uninstalling the en 46106 before you reinstall the Starter followed by placing the engine into position using the engine support fixture (J44453-B) and reattaching the rear Engine Mount together with the front Engine Mount and Engine Mount strut bracket and Drive Belt.

Replace the crankshaft balancer by starting with the removal of the engine mount strut bracket followed by the Drive Belt and Starter. The en 46106 (Flywheel Holding Tool) must be installed through the Starter hole while right frame side support comes from jackstands. The right side frame reinforcement bolts must be taken out while right side frame bolts are loosened to drop the right side frame approximately 2 inches. First use the j 38416-2 (Crankshaft Button) to insert into the crankshaft nose then apply the j 41816 (Crankshaft Balancer Remover) for removing the crankshaft balancer from the crankshaft. Installation of en 46106 to flywheel occurs as a part of the process. Use the j 41998-b (Crankshaft Balancer Installer) while inserting a nut and bearing and washer to install the crankshaft balancer by neglecting lubricant application on the front oil seal and balancer sealing surfaces of the crankshaft. Place the balancer on the crankshaft while lubricating its hub bore with the j 41998-b tool installed before the tool reaches 10 threads in the crankshaft. ((J 41998-B)) nut should be tightened until the large washer rests against the crankshaft end before (.J 41998-B') removal allows for (J 45059) installation of the crankshaft balancer bolt which needs to be threaded to 100 nm (74 lb ft) and further tightened for 150 degrees. The final step involves Starter reinstallation followed by use of an engine support fixture to raise the engine. Additionally, the engineer must install the engine mount strut bracket together with the Drive Belt.

The first step for replacing the crankshaft balancer involves Drive Belt removal. The Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) should be used to stop crankshaft rotation before you remove the crankshaft balancer bolt to discard it with the balancer. The installation process requires placing a new crankshaft balancer while installing a new balancer bolt. The Harmonic Balancer holder (J 38122-A) should maintain position of the balancer while you tighten the bolt. The crankshaft balancer bolt needs to be tightened with an angle meter (J 45059) to 100 nm (74 lb ft) torque and an additional 125 degrees of angle. Finally, reinstall the Drive Belt.

Do not lubricate the sealing surfaces.

Reinstall the accessory drive belt.

Remove the front air deflector before taking out the crankshaft balancer.

Use the EN-41816 (Crankshaft Balancer Remover) to pull the crankshaft balancer off by tightening its center bolt, and then remove the tool.

Again, use the Harmonic Balancer Holder (J 38122-A) to hold the balancer in place.
