    Q:
What is the SIR/side air bag sensor replacement policy on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
A replacement policy enacted by the sir/side Air Bag Sensor requires new sensors when areas of collision damage are present which include parts that become damaged or crushed or bent after a collision such as hitting a tree medium intensity. Sensors placed in front of the Radiator must be replaced at all times and this replacement rule is unaffected by air bag deployment or sensor appearance. Slight damage to the mounting bracket and wire insulation leads to defective sir/side air bag sensing operations so the sensor must be replaced instead of being checked for condition. To make sure the dtc table indicates sensor failure it is necessary to replace the malfunctioning sensor.
