    Q:
How to replace the rear Seat Cushion Pad and cover on GMC Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replacements for the rear seat back cover and pad require removal of the back seat from the vehicle followed by proceeding to remove the rear seat head restraint and rear seat back release latch. Move on to release the J-strips from the bottom edge of the rear seat back and then detach the hook and loop retaining strips on both seat back sides. When removing the hook and loop retaining strips from each other never pull at the adhesive-backed strip of the pad. Locate the retaining strips inside the seat cover and then remove the cover from the rear seat assembly by releasing those retaining strips. Remove the seat back pad carefully from its frame on the rear seat back structure. The seat back pad should be positioned on the rear seat back frame before securing the cover onto the rear seat back assembly while pulling the seat cover down over the pad. You should squeeze the seat cover hook and loop retaining strips together by moving your hand over the cover before installing seat back cover J-strips at the bottom and hook and loop strips at the bottom sides of the rear seat back. The last installation task involves returning the rear seat back release latch and the rear seat head restraint as well as repositioning the rear seat back into its original position in the vehicle.
