Installation requires removal of Fuel Tank caps followed by fuel hose connection to the tank with clamp tightening to 1.7 n.m for the vent hose and 2.5 n.m for the fuel fill hose. The process ends with installation of the filler pipe followed by refilling the system and installing the cap before Battery Cable reconnection and leak inspection.

An approved gasoline drain container should rest underneath the fuel filler pipe while you disconnect the filler pipe ground strap. Begin by wiping down the vent hose connection and moving the vent hose clamp until loose before cleaning the Fuel Filler Hose connection and subsequently loose its clamp. Initial contamination prevention requires you to detach the Fuel Filler Hose and vent hose followed by capping them off. To install the fuel filler pipe, users need to remove protective caps from the Fuel Filler Hose and vent hose after which they should assemble the filler pipe to the fuel tank fill and vent hoses and the fill pipe housing while maintaining correct alignment with the filler pipe housing. Toe tighten the fill hose clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) without threading over its specified limit. Tighten the filler pipe ground strap bolt to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) while attaching a washer on the frame's surface. Install the fuel filler pipe to fill pipe housing using attaching screws before tightening them to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Afterward install the fuel filler cap while reestablishing the negative Battery Cable connection and check for any sign of leakage.
