One must start fuel filler neck replacement by draining fuel from the tank until it reaches the level of the hose. After that raise the vehicle until you can access the wheel house filler pipe opening cover properly. At the beginning of fuel filler pipe removal start by removing both the Fuel Tank filler pipe ground wire bolt and the fuel filler pipe clamp before the pipe can be taken out. The first step for installation involves placing the fuel filler pipe while following it with the fuel filler pipe clamp which needs to be tightened to 4.2 n.m (37 lb in). Set the Fuel Tank filler pipe ground wire attaching bolt at 9 n.m (80 lb in torque) then put on the wheel house filler pipe opening cover. After lowering the vehicle you should fill the tank with fuel before installing the Fuel Tank filler pipe cap. To check for leaks, turn the ignition on with engine off for two seconds before turning it off for ten seconds followed by another turning on with engine off for leak inspection. Attach the fuel injector sight shield after finishing the installation process.

It is essential to drain the Fuel Tank until it sits under the Fuel Filler Hose before starting Fuel Filler Hose replacement. Raise the vehicle afterward you should take off the wheel house filler pipe opening cover. The procedure to remove the fuel filler pipe begins by removing the Fuel Tank filler pipe ground wire bolt then the fuel filler pipe clamp before capturing the fuel filler pipe. Installation begins with placing the fuel filler pipe in its position while following all service precautions stated in fastener notices. You should fasten the fuel filler pipe clamp until it reaches 4.2 nm (37 lb in) of tightness. Secure the attaching bolt of the Fuel Tank filler pipe ground wire with a torque of 9 nm (80 lb in). The wheel house filler pipe opening needs its cover replaced before lowering the vehicle down for fuel addition to the tank. Place the Fuel Tank filler pipe cap while attaching the negative Battery Cable. The procedure for leak detection begins with turning on ignition while engine remains off for two seconds followed by ignition off for ten seconds and ends with another ignition on and engine off sequence for leak inspection. Install the fuel injector sight shield to complete the task.

Detach the fuel filler hose from the fuel tank.

Ensure to tighten the fuel filler hose clamp to 4.2 N.m (37 lb in) as per the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Detach the fuel filler hose from the fuel tank.

Reinstall the fuel tank.

Install the fuel tank filler pipe ground wire attaching bolt and tighten it to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

Install the fuel filler pipe and ensure to follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Drain the fuel tank and raise the vehicle, ensuring to follow vehicle lifting precautions.
