    Q:
How to Replace a Fuel Filler Hose on Buick Lucerne? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Fuel Filler Hose requires drainage of Fuel Tank levels below its filling position. Compressed air through the left rear wheel house liner removes dirt and debris from the fuel fill pipe and evaporative emission (EVAP) line connections before removing all components. First detach the fuel fill hose from the fuel fill pipe by loosening the clamp at the fill pipe. The next step involves removing both the Fuel Tank evap recirculation line quick connect fitting from the fill pipe line and taking out the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt. Lower the vehicle after disconnecting the evap canister's quick connect fitting from the vent line of the fill pipe. To remove the fill pipe insert it into the pocket opening and take out the Fuel Tank through that hole. First install the Fuel Tank fill pipe through the pocket opening before putting on the Fuel Tank fill pocket opening grommet. Alleviate the car then use a quick connect fitting to fasten the fill pipe vent line into position at the evap canister. Install the ground strap bolt on the bracket before positioning it at 9 n.m (80 lb in). Install the Fuel Tank evap recirculation line's quick connect fitting to the fill pipe line and make sure the fill pipe remains clean while setup according to the original specifications with a fill pipe bead beyond the clamp position inside the hose. Completely join the fuel fill hose to the fuel fill pipe before fasting the fuel fill hose clamp at the fill pipe with 4 n.m torque. Fit back the left rear wheel house liner followed by attaching the negative Battery Cable. First turn ignition on while keeping the engine off for two seconds and then turn off the ignition for ten seconds before turning on the ignition once more with the engine off to check for fuel leaks. The procedure ends by fitting in the intake manifold cover.
