    Q:
How to Replace a Power Steering Hose for Pressure Hose on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the power steering pressure hose replacement by placing a drain pan beneath the vehicle then detach the power steering pressure line both from the Power Steering Pump and the retaining bracket of the engine. Access the lower power steering pressure line at the power steering gear through the engine compartment between the rocker arm cover and front dash mat using a 2 foot 3/8 inch drive extension crow's foot line wrench measuring 18 mm. Rise the vehicle then support it properly before pulling the power steering pressure line off the clamps of the power steering gear and extracting it from the vehicle. The installation starts by placing the power steering pressure line back to the vehicle then fastening it with clamps on the power steering gear followed by lowering the vehicle. Attach the power steering pressure line to the power steering gear while using an 18 mm crow's foot line wrench with a 2 foot long, 3/8 inch drive extension to tighten the fitting till it reaches 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). The power steering pressure line requires installation to both the retaining bracket on the engine and to the Power Steering Pump while meeting the specified torque requirement. Add power steering fluid to the system while performing a bleeding process and conduct a leak inspection.

    Q:
How to Replace a Power Steering Hose for Optimal Performance on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of power steering return line begins with raising and supporting the vehicle followed by removing the tire along with wheel assembly. A drain pan should be positioned under the vehicle to collect leaks from power steering fluid. The power steering return hose requires detachment from both locations: power steering gear cooler pipe and power steering gear together with Power Steering Pump and Power Steering Hose retainer. After securing the power steering return hose to both the power steering gear line retainer and power steering gear cooler pipe you can attach it to power steering gear before tightening the fitting to 27 nm (20 lb. Ft.). Relocate the drain pan before fitting the hose to the power steering cooler pipe while reinstalling the tire-wheel assembly. First lower the vehicle then add power steering fluid until the reservoir reaches the fill line before bleeding the system and verifying it has no fluid leaks.
