Take out the bolts (3) and the washers (2) that attach both the clutch Pressure Plate (4) and the clutch driven plate (1) to the Flywheel (5). Lift out the clutch alignment tool from the clutch collar. Clean each part with a water dampened cloth and make sure there are no signs of damage. With a straight edge, examine the surfaces where the clutch connects and check the friction pads for marks, holes, lots of oil and missing or broken rivets; if there is a lot of oil on the friction pads, replace the clutch driven plate. Look for any damaged splines and check that fit splines slide freely and look over all the springs and the boot for bends, cracks and rips. Insert the bolts and the washers and attach the Pressure Plate and clutch plate to the end of the Flywheel. You should install (J5824-01) or a used clutch drive gear for clutch support. Locate the yellow dot on the clutch Pressure Plate and put it in line with the "x" that appears on the heaviest part of the Flywheel. Tighten the clutch Pressure Plate bolts to 41 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Take out the alignment tool. Attach the quick disconnect to the end of the concentric slave cylinder. Put the transmission in place.
