    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump on Chevrolet Express 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The power steering pulley remover (J25034-C) should be used first to detach the Power Steering Pump pulley from the vehicle. A drain pan should be placed below the vehicle while technicians disconnect three hoses from the pump. The team members should use end caps to prevent dirt entrance into the pump and the hoses. The installation begins by removing Power Steering Pump mounting bolts together with accessory mounting bracket bolts and nuts before pulling forward the accessory bracket to extract the Power Steering Pump. The rear bracket installation requires users to connect it to the pump then tighten the nut to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Begin installation by mounting the engine pump with bolts at 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs. Torque) followed by relocating the accessory bracket for bolting with bolts and a nut at specified torque values (50 Nm for bolts and 41 Nm for the nut). Next slip off the caps from the power steering hoses while following their previous placement and join the pressure hose to the pump before securing the fitting to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). Utilize retaining clamps to secure the power steering return hose before doing the same procedure for the reservoir outlet hose. Insert the pulley onto the pump shaft before using the Power Steering Pump pulley installer (J25033-C) for assembly. Complete the system by adding power steering fluid before performing a bleeding procedure while removing the drain pan situated under the vehicle.

    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the Power Steering Pump involves setting up a drain pan under the unit then disassembling the Fan Shroud. You should install a 3/8 inch drive ratchet onto the tensioner arm before rotating it counterclockwise to remove the pump Drive Belt. The pump hoses require disconnection followed by raising them to avoid oil drainage before capping their ends and the pump with protective caps. Perform the following steps to remove the reservoir hose from the pump while capping all available fittings on the pump. Utilize the power steering pulley remover (J25034-C) to rotate the nut until it positions at the pilot bolt maximum height. This action ensures the pump shaft reaches its lowest point. Start by holding the pilot bolt and rotating the nut to the left while turning the pulley out of the pump. After that remove the remaining pump line by capping its connection. Take out the pump from the vehicle by first removing its adjusting bolts , nuts and brackets (1, 3). To install the pump the first step is to mount brackets (1,3) to the unit followed by placing the pulley onto the shaft while using the Power Steering Pump pulley installer (J25033-C). The clearance between the pilot bolt and the pump shaft must be checked by turning the nut to the topmost position before using a wrench to hold the pilot bolt and rotatating the nut clockwise. Install the pump assembly to the engine after pumping fluid into the pump housing while using the bolts and nuts in a loose fashion. After pumping fluid into the reservoir you should connect power steering hoses to the pump while tightening the fittings to 27 nm (20 ft. Lbs.). During bleeding of the pump turn the pulley in a counterclockwise direction until air bubbles stop appearing. You should tighten the steering pump mounting bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) before you put the Drive Belt on the pump with a 3/8 inch drive ratchet on the tensioner arm while rotating the arm counterclockwise. The last installation steps include fitting the Fan Shroud while using power steering fluid to fill the system and performing a bleed procedure.
