Washer Pump

The replacement process for a headlamp Washer Pump requires first elevating and steadying the vehicle with adequate space between it and the left front fender. Ordinarily detach and document the left front wheel position before you take out the left front lower wheelhouse splash shield fasteners from their position behind the wheelhouse (1, 2, 3). Remember the fender alignment reference for reinstallation. The installation process starts with draining fluid from the lower mounted windshield Washer Pump output hose by disconnecting it before removing the headlamp Washer Pump output hose after sliding out the lock and removing it from the assembly. First remove the electrical connector of the headlamp Washer Pump then turn the Washer Pump counterclockwise to extract it from the washer solvent container. The installer must wet the headlamp Washer Pump body rubber grommet before pushing the pump through the grommet until the pump reaches its original position. To install the headlight Washer Pump electric connection you must attach it to the pump before hooking up the output hose to the pump and locking in place using the sliding connection mechanism. Connect the lower windshield Washer Pump output hose while lowering the vehicle then reposition the washer solvent to its original level. Check washer pumps along with sensor leaks when aligning the fender and installing fasteners (1, 2, 3) to the left front lower wheelhouse splash shield beforeinstallationof the left front wheel.

The first step to changing the headlamp Washer Pump begins with vehicle elevation and support and clearing the left front fender area from the hoist. Unfasten the three fasteners (1, 2, 3) of the left front wheelhouse splash shield from its rear position while preserving the necessary alignment of the fender for future reinstallation. First disconnect the output hose from the windshield Washer Pump located at the lower position by draining the liquid into an appropriate container while using a suitable container. Then detach the headlamp Washer Pump output hose after disengaging its slide lock mechanism for pulling the hose free. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp Washer Pump and twist the Washer Pump out of the washer solvent container in order to remove it. The headlamp Washer Pump installation requires the application of water to the grommet, pump insertion into the grommet following the original orientation and finally connecting the electrical connector to the pump. You can link the headlamp Washer Pump output hose to the pump before fixing the sliding lock while connecting the output hose from the lower mounted windshield Washer Pump. After vehicle lowering check the washer solvent level while also testing washer pumps together with the level sensor for leaks. The last step involves using fasteners 1, 2, 3 to secure the left front lower wheelhouse splash shield while installing its front wheel.

Align the fender and install the fasteners (1, 2, 3) to the left front lower wheelhouse splash shield before reinstalling the left front wheel.

Insert the pump body through the grommet until it is seated as originally positioned, then connect the electrical connector and the washer pump output hose to the washer pump.

Remove the washer pump by twisting it out of the washer solvent container.
