How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on Chevrolet Impala?

Start your windshield washer pump replacement by removing the front fender liner. Detach the washer pump electrical connection plus the hose. After that pull the top part out from the side and gently remove the washer pump. Pull out the washer seal from its compartment in the washer solvent hose. Start the process by inserting the washer pump seal into the washer solvent container then push the washer pump until it seats entirely at its holder. Close the system by connecting power and hose components back to the washer pump then replace the front fender panel.

How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on Chevrolet Malibu?

Starting the windshield Washer Pump replacement requires removal of the front wheelhouse panel splash shield. Take off the power connection from the Washer Pump and the hose connection from the Washer Pump unit. Insert a flat tool to take out the Washer Pump from its solvent container and transfer the washer fluid into an open container. When reinstalling the Washer Pump secure the terminal seal with the small flat-bladed tool from the washer solvent container. Push the Washer Pump terminal seal onto washer solvent container until it reaches full position. Put windshield washer solvent directly on the terminal seal before placing the Washer Pump onto the washer solvent container and pressing it onto the mount. Plugs the Washer Pump electrical connection and hose to their designated socket on the pump. Insert the front wheelhouse panel splash shield and check the washer system effectiveness after filling the washer solvent container with washer solution.

Before replacing the windshield washer pump you need to open the hood to access the powertrain control module or ECM. Let washer solvent run out from the container before disconnecting the washer pump wire connection and hose joints. Insert a small flat blade device to disconnect the washer pump part from the solvent tank. Add the new washer pump into the washer solvent container and push it down until it clicks into place. Connect both the washer hose and washer pump electrical connection then pour washer solvent into the washer solvent container. After finishing install the ECM and seal the hood.
