The washer solvent container must come out before you replace the pump in back window. Unplug the washer hose from the pump and take out the pump through its retainer and into the solvent container. Pull the pump straight up to break its seal with the grommet and dismiss the grommet. Place a new sealing grommet into the container first. Then lubricate it with clean washer solvent. Thread the pump onto the sealing grommet and mount it at the retainer located on the solvent container. Replace the washer hose to its connection on the pump then put the solvent container back in place.

To work on the Windshield Washer Pump you need to take out both washer solvent from its container and from the left front fender liner first. Remove the electrical plug and washer outlet tube from their connectors. Apply your flat-bladed tool to take out the washer pump from the washer solvent container then use it again to discard the seal. Push the seal firmly into the washer solvent container before placing the washer pump inside and making sure it sits tightly. Reinsert the washer hose and electrical pump connectors before putting back the left front fender panel and loading washer solvent into the reservoir.
