Washer Pump

Before handling the windshield washer pump you need to remove the lower air deflector while draining the washer solvent into a safe vessel. Pull off the hockey and electrical pieces from their positions on the washer pump before taking it out of the washer solvent storage unit. Before putting the washer pump in place you should apply washer solvent to its intake nozzle to make it easier to insert into the washer container. Secure the washer pump and confirm its stable attachment. Reconnect the electrical button and washer hose to the pump after installing the lower air shield and opening the hood. Add new washer solvent to the container and check if the pump works properly before shutting the hood.

Lower the air deflector and drain the washer fluid to a safe container to replace a windshield washer pump. Unplug the electrical connector and remove the washer hose from the washer pump before taking out the pump from the washer solvent container. Apply washer solvent to the washer pump intake nozzle before you insert it into the washer container and properly install the washer pump unit. Reattach the washer pump electrical cable and hose to the pump parts while reinstalling the lower air deflector before opening the hood. Before proceeding insert new washer solvent into the container turn on the pump and seal the hood.

The replacement process for the headlamp washer pump begins by taking off the lower air deflector along with the passenger side front wheelhouse liner. Rinse washer solvent container waste before removing the electrical connector and washer hose from the rearward washer pump. A flat-bladed tool inserted into the top of the washer pump will help release it from the washer solvent container while you grasping the pump with your other hand. After securing the pump you should discard the washer pump grommet. To install the washer pump grommet users must insert it into the washer solvent container before applying clean water to the nozzle of the washer pump to ease its installation. After ensuring the washer pump nozzle snaps securely into the washer solvent container you should connect the electrical connector followed by the washer hose to the pump. The owner should place back the passenger side front wheelhouse liner alongside the lower air deflector into position. Begin by opening the hood while filling the washer solvent container and finishing by closing the hood again.

Before replacing the windshield washer pump you need to open the hood to access the powertrain control module or ECM. Let washer solvent run out from the container before disconnecting the washer pump wire connection and hose joints. Insert a small flat blade device to disconnect the washer pump part from the solvent tank. Add the new washer pump into the washer solvent container and push it down until it clicks into place. Connect both the washer hose and washer pump electrical connection then pour washer solvent into the washer solvent container. After finishing install the ECM and seal the hood.

Begin the windshield washer pump replacement by opening the hood and taking out the PCM. First drain washer solvent from its container. Afterwards unplug the washer pump electricity supply and release the washer hose connection from the pump unit. The washer pump connects to the washer solvent container using a flat-bladed tool. Set the new washer pump into its position in the washer solvent container while forcing it down until it locks securely. Mount the washer hose and plug the washer pump electrical components while adding washer solvent into the washer solvent reservoir. Reinsert the PCM unit and close the hood at the end of the process.

Verify the operation of the pump and then close the hood.

Place the new washer pump grommet into the washer solvent container.

Lubricate the washer pump intake nozzle with clean water to facilitate installation.

Drain the washer solvent into a suitable container.

Lubricate the washer pump intake nozzle with washer solvent.

Hold the top of the washer pump with one hand and use a flat-bladed tool to pry it from the washer solvent container, then remove the washer pump and discard the washer pump grommet.

Reinstall the PCM and close the hood.
