Chevrolet Express 1500 Washer Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Windshield Washer Pump on Chevrolet Express 1500?
A: To fix the windshield washer pump begin by lifting the hood and securing it. Then you will need to remove both the upper fender support and bolt from the washer solvent container. Empty the washer solvent container to see its washer hose and electrical connection. Disconnect the hose and electrical lead from the pump then snap a cap onto the pump to hold the fluid inside. Take the washer solvent container off the car then empty its contents into a suitable receptacle before taking out the washer pump and cap from the washer tank. Simply put the new washer pump inside the washer solvent container then attach the cap. Apply the electrical connector and washing hose to the new washer pump. Fit the washer solvent container into chassis mounting holes and screw it with a bolt to a torque setting of 10 N.m (89 lb. in.). Replace and secure the upper fender support while adding washer solvent to its container then shutting the hood.
