To remove the
Spark Plug Wires, you must first take off the engine cover. Remove each Spark Plug wire by twisting the boot and only the boot. Do not pull on the wire itself, twist it only 1/2 turn and pull on boot. Next, twist the Spark Plug wire from the
Ignition Coil, twist each boot 1/2 turn, and pull the wire boot only. The melco(R) (square design) has used a Spark Plug wire: 145mm (5.70i in) from wire seal-to-seal, and the delphi(R) (round design) has used, Spark Plug wire: 110mm (4.30i in) from wire seal-to-seal. There are two distinct manufacturers of the ignition coils: the melco(R) (square design) and the delphi(R) (round design), which have their various Spark Plug Wires and mount brackets. Mount the Spark Plug Wires to the Ignition Coil and then to the spark plugs. Check the wires to ensure correct installation by pressing laterally on every boot to detect seating and tighten any free boot. Finally, reinstall the engine cover.
