The first step to replace the rear seat belt involves removing the rear seat belt upper guide shoulder bolt combined with removing the rear quarter upper trim from the left or right side. The sequence of repair begins with removal of the lower seat belt anchor bolt cover then the rear seat belt floor anchor bolt followed by stripping off the rear quarter lower trim from the identical side. Remove the automotive assembly of the rear seat belt retractor by detaching the bolt which connects to the vehicle body. The rear seat belt retractor assembly installation begins by positioning the components followed by bolt attachment to the body structure while tightening them to 70 N.m (52 lb ft). Secure the rear quarter lower trim after you place the rear seat belt floor anchor bolt in position while making sure the seat belt webbing remains untwisted and tightening it to 70 N.m (52 lb ft). First install the anchor bolt cover and after that add the rear quarter upper trim. The rear seat belt upper guide should be fastened using the bolt while nogently twisting the webbing before the bolt is tightened to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).

Every seat belt system which stays in use during a serious collision with automatic restraint deployment should receive replacement according to the manufacturer specifications. Adult passenger seat belts and seat belts that secure child restraint systems and infant carriers and booster seats must all be examined for replacement based on their LATCH system and top tether anchorages status. Replacement of seat belt systems must include both adult belts and built-in child restraints together with LATCH system components and their parts that present damage or wear or tearing. The seat belt system requires replacement under any of these three conditions: presence of "REPLACE" or "CAUTION" words or visibility of yellow tags. However, yellow tags pertaining to child seat cautions do not necessitate replacement. A seat belt system replacement is required whenever a doubt exists about its condition regardless if it is an adult seat belt system or built-in child restraint or LATCH component or any restraint system securing infant carriers and child restraints and booster seats. The replacement of single seat belt components should be avoided in vehicles involved in collisions because the entire buckle-guide-retractor assembly including its latch and webbing material needs replacement. Only the seat belt system needs replacement in minor collisions which result in no Air Bag deployment if parts show no signs of tearing or wearing or damage.

Position the seat belt retractor bracket on the seat back frame and install the seat belt retractor bracket bolt, tightening it to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).
