Hub & Bearing Assembly, Rear

Start by lifting and supporting the vehicle. Then take off its tire and wheel followed by the brake rotor. Remove the wheel bearing/hub bolts by disconnecting the abs sensor wire connector first. Then you can pull out both the wheel bearing assembly and brake shield. You should sanitize the lower Control Arm surface and hole before adding the fresh wheel bearing and hub. Put the wheel bearing and hub assembly back onto the lower Control Arm using the brake shield after installing them both according to the fastener notice. Fasten the wheel bearing assembly with its retaining bolts then tighten them to 68 n.m force (50 lb ft). Install the brake rotor before reconnecting the abs sensor wire and reattaching the tire and wheel back to the vehicle.

You need to raise the car and position it safely before taking out the wheel including tire brakes rotor and abs sensor for wheel bearing replacement. Pull off the abs sensor wire and remove wheel bearing/hub bolts to withdraw both components plus the brake shield unit. When you put on a new wheel bearing and hub you must first prepare the lower Control Arm surface and matching hole by cleaning them. Install the wheel bearing and hub unit with brake shield onto the Control Arm before tightening its bolts to 50 ft. Lb (68 Nm). You should put back the brake rotor then link the abs sensor wire before assembling the tire wheel into position and dropping the vehicle.
