The first step to replace Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir (LP1, LY7) requires removing the air cleaner intake duct along with the front air deflector before setting a drain pan underneath the vehicle. The first step to replace the power steering reservoir includes disconnecting both the power steering cooler hose and power steering reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir and following this by removing all reservoir bolts to detach the reservoir. The power steering reservoir should be positioned before bolting it into place with upper bolts set at 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) and lower bolts at 25 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). Follow up by reattaching the power steering reservoir outlet hose along with the power steering cooler hose before discarding the drain pan. The last installation steps include putting back the air cleaner intake duct followed by bleeding the power steering system while finishing with the front air deflector unit.

Before changing remote Power Steering Reservoir (LP1, LY7), the technician should start by removing the fuel injector sight shield and air cleaner intake duct and front air deflector. A drain pan should then be positioned under the vehicle. Use the clamp compression tool to disconnect both Power Steering Reservoir inlet pipe/hose and outlet pipe/hose from their attachment to the reservoir. First detach the Power Steering Reservoir through the removal of its main bolt and the two smaller bolts to extract the unit. The new Power Steering Reservoir installation requires users to first install the small bolts to 9 n.m (80 lb in) torque then follow with the larger bolt at 25 n.m (19 lb ft). Fitting the Power Steering Reservoir inlet and outlet pipes respectively using the clamp makes it possible for the drain pan removal. The power steering system must be filled before bleeding and the process should finish with reinstalling the front air deflector and air cleaner intake duct and fuel injector sight shield.

The first step to replace the remote power steering reservoir entails placing a drain pan underneath the vehicle while removing the capstick from the reservoir. Before continuing, disconnect the power steering reservoir from its mounting bracket, then uninstall the power steering reservoir outlet hose together with the power steering return hose. The next step consists of putting the new power steering reservoir in place, followed by reattachment of the power steering reservoir outlet pipe/hose and the power steering return hose until the reservoir can be fastened to its original position on the bracket. Bleeding the power steering system needs to be performed to guarantee correct system operation.

Remove the drain pan and bleed the power steering system.

Take out the remote power steering fluid reservoir from the vehicle.
