Place the hydraulic pump on a firm horizontal plane with its shaft positioned vertically upward for hydraulic pump reservoir replacement. You should use a screwdriver to extend the retaining clip tab while sliding the reservoir clip in a direction away from the hydraulic pump assembly. Two reservoir clips need removal following the same installation sequence before you can extract the reservoir from the hydraulic pump housing. Users need to delete the O-ring seal that exists at the neck of the reservoir or inside the hydraulic pump housing. Place the new O-ring seal inside the reservoir neck then apply power steering fluid as lubricating agent before installation. Place the reservoir on the hydraulic pump assembly by ensuring complete engagement of its neck opening. Secure the new reservoir retaining clips along the sides of the hydraulic pump housing by aligning the reservoir feet correctly.

Put the hydraulic pump on a stationary flat surface to perform replacement of the Power Steering Reservoir. Set up the pump with its shaft in a vertical position. A screwdriver will help extend the retaining clip tab which clears the way for the reservoir clip to move away from the hydraulic pump assembly. The second reservoir clip should be removed before extracting the reservoir from the hydraulic pump housing. Discard both O-ring seals that are located in the neck section of the reservoir and inside the hydraulic pump housing. Place new O-ring seal in power steering fluid before setting it into the neck section of the reservoir. The next step requires installing the reservoir onto the hydraulic pump assembly with security in placing the reservoir neck correctly into position. Secure the feet of the reservoir to the sides of the hydraulic pump housing by installing new retaining clips which must extend properly into the hydraulic pump housing.

When replacing the Power Steering Reservoir off the vehicle for the C13 Series start by placing the hydraulic pump on a stationary flat surface while orienting its shaft in an upward direction. You should push the screwdriver onto the retaining clip tab to extend it outward so you can move the reservoir clip away from the hydraulic pump assembly. Remove the hydraulic pump reservoir after sliding out both reservoir clips one by one starting from the first reservoir clip and then the second reservoir clip. Each LOCTITE seal which appears at the reservoir neck or within the hydraulic pump housing must be tossed away. The new LOCTITE seal requires power steering fluid lubrication before it should be installed on the reservoir neck. The hydraulic pump assembly needs the reservoir installed by positioning the reservoir neck to achieve full insertion. Position the reservoir's feet parallel to the hydraulic pump housing sides before installing the provided new clips by ensuring tabs connect completely to the housing.
