Air Inlet

Begin fresh air duct/hose air cleaner maintenance by removing the air cleaner outlet duct. Disconnect the atmospheric vent hose from the air cleaner resonator at the same time loosen the air cleaner resonator outlet duct clamp. First remove the 2 air cleaner resonator bolts then lift upward to disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the camshaft cover and the outlet duct from the Throttle Body before removing the assembly from the engine. Place the outlet duct above the Throttle Body assembly while installing the crankcase ventilation hose to the camshaft cover port. Check that air cleaner outlet resonator bolts are correctly aligned with the camshaft cover captured nuts while you verify that outlet duct installation points toward the Throttle Body assembly without rolling beneath. Secure the air cleaner resonator outlet duct clamp in its proper position while tightening it to 6 nm (53 lb in). Secure the 2 air cleaner outlet resonator bolts to the camshaft cover using 6 nm (53 lb in) torque. The final step requires installation of the atmospheric vent hose to the air cleaner resonator while attaching the air cleaner outlet duct.

The initial step to work on the air cleaner fresh air duct/hose requires you to take off the air cleaner outlet duct. Separate the atmospheric vent hose from both the air cleaner resonator and loosen the clamp securing the resonator outlet duct. After removing the 2 air cleaner resonator bolts you can lift upward to disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the camshaft cover and the outlet duct from the Throttle Body before removing the assembly from the engine. First position the outlet duct over the Throttle Body assembly before connecting the crankcase ventilation hose to the camshaft cover port. Insert the air cleaner outlet resonator bolts through the captured nuts on the camshaft cover so the outlet duct remains secured to the Throttle Body assembly and prevents roll-under damage. Tighten the air cleaner resonator outlet duct clamp to 6 n.m (53 lb in) after positioning it correctly. Fit the 2 air cleaner outlet resonator bolts into the camshaft cover positions then tighten them to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Secure the environmental vent pipe to the air filter resonator while installing the air filter outlet assembly.

Ensure to align the air cleaner outlet duct tab with the air cleaner resonator tab.

Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the air cleaner, ensuring all clamps are tightened to 6 Nm (53 lb in).
