Valve Springs

The valve guide seal repair starts by taking off the valve Rocker Arm cover to reach the valve components. Wait for the engine to cool down before taking out spark plugs to shield the threading and cylinder head from harm. First take out the Spark Plug and label all valve train parts for their order. Take out both the Rocker Arm and Pushrod assembly from the target cylinder during maintenance. Insert the Spark Plug port adapter (J 23590) into the Spark Plug port and create valve retention with compressed air. Strike the piston at top-dead-center using the j 5892-d valve spring compressor to compress the valve spring. After that pull out both valve locks and cap from the engine. Take out the spring assembly with both its oil seal and spring seat. Begin your work by placing the new spring seat on top of the valve stem oil seal before fitting the valve spring and cap. The valve spring compressor (J 5892-D) squeezes the valve spring until the valve securely sits in the upper valve stem groove when you apply grease to hold the locks in place before releasing the compressor. Place the valve locks and gently let go of the compressor before taking off the Spark Plug port adapter (J 23590). Install the Spark Plug by tightening it to 11 ft. Lbs. Of torque and proceeding with the Rocker Arm and Pushrod before putting back the valve Rocker Arm cover.

Carefully release the Valve Spring Compressor (J 5892-D) and remove the Spark Plug Port Adapter (J 23590).
