    A:
In order to install the Steering Wheel, first, be sure that if the Steering Column was replaced, then the front wheels and tires must not have moved; if it was not changed, ensure that the front wheels and tires are in a straight ahead position. Center the coil of the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module if necessary. If replacing Steering Wheel, mark on new wheel in the same alignment point as the old one through the use of paint. During installation, see that the 2 tabs in the sir coil correspond with the 2 slots in the Steering Wheel mounting surface so as not to damage the sir coil. Mount the Steering Wheel onto the Steering Shaft so the 2 tabs on the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module coil fit into the 2 slots at the back of the Steering Wheel and align the Steering Wheel and Steering Shaft marks. Make sure that the Steering Wheel is in straight ahead position when the tires and wheels in straight ahead position. The Steering Shaft nut should be installed and fitted level with a 33 nm (23.5 ft. Lbs.) fit. Finally, mount the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module to the Steering Wheel and power the sir system on.

Disabling sir system is the necessary step, needed before servicing and repairing the Steering Wheel. In the event that the Steering Column is not supposed to be removed then it is important that the front wheels should be put back to the straight ahead position.
