    Q:
How to replace the rear door striker on a Crew Cab on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the rear door striker of a Crew Cab starts with taking out the lower striker bolt. Slowly turn the upper striker bolt with enough space to let the striker and optional spacer move downward from the lower bolt hole. Secure the lower striker bolt until the backing plate stays fixed within its position. After removing the upper striker bolt users should proceed to take out both the spacer when present and the striker. Start by installing the striker before adding the spacer only if equipped followed by the installation of the upper striker bolt . Shifted backing plates of the striker require rotating the lower bolt until the upper bolt hole finds its correct position. Ready the lower bolt and adjust the striker together with the spacer if present to position the lower threaded hole on the striker backing plate. Fastener safety needs caution-based treatment. Tighten the striker bolts to 24 Nm (18 lb ft) as the last step.
