    Q:
How to replace the lower ball joint on Chevrolet Prizm? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise your vehicle and entirely move the weight from its tires and lower control arms before starting the lower Ball Joint replacement. Place the suspension crossmember securely on top of a jack stand. Put the Steering Knuckle inside a soft-jawed vise and position the axle hub for disassembly. Detach the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle through this process: take off the cotter pin and the nut next tighten the universal steering linkage puller (J 24319-B) to remove the joint at its Steering Knuckle connection. To attach the Ball Joint to the Steering Knuckle use the nut and screw it in at 124 nm tightening until the cotter pin twelve o'clock alignment with the stud hole. Fit the cotter pin into the nut slots and use adjustable pliers to bend its ends for locking. Put back the Steering Knuckle and wheel hub assembly together before unscrewing the jack stand and letting the car down from the frame contact lift pad. After positioning the vehicle on the alignment rack raise it to align the wheels then return the vehicle to the ground.
