    To change the back up lamp switch of tremec 6-speed manual transmission it first rises and supports suitably the vehicle. Remove the back up lamp switch's electrical connector and take off the back up lamp switch's wire harness from the bracket. Remove the back up lamp switch with snap-on(TM) vsm5222 (22mm angle head open end wrench) or equivalent. Apply pipe sealant with teflon(R) to the threads of the back up lamp switch with gm p/n 1052080 or equivalent and install it and tighten it to 27 n.m(20 lb ft). Mark the removed wire harness removal point on the bracket and reinstall the back up lamp switch wire harness to the bracket, connect the back up lamp switch electrical connector before lowering the vehicle.

    The replacement of the back up lamp switch requires you to first raise the vehicle before getting a proper support system in place. Remove the back up lamp switch wire harness from its bracket then disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector. With a Snap-On VSM5222 (22 mm angle head open end wrench) or an equivalent tool remove the back up lamp switch. Apply GM P/N 1052080 or an equivalent Teflon content pipe sealant to threads of back up lamp switch before installation. Set the back up lamp switch into position followed by tightening it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Prior to lowering the vehicle, reconnect the back up lamp switch wire harness to the bracket and plug in the back up lamp switch electrical connector.
