Begin back up lamp switch replacement for a Tremec 6-Speed by raising and securely supporting the vehicle body. Separate the back up lamp switch electrical connection then remove the connection wire harness from the bracket. A Snap-On™ VSM5222 22 mm angle head open end wrench will help you remove the back up lamp switch. The installation of a new back up lamp switch requires applying GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent pipe sealant with Teflon® on the threaded components. Tighten the back up lamp switch installation with 27 Nm torque (20 ft. lbs.) settings. Reinstall back up lamp switch wire harness to the bracket while connecting the back up lamp switch electrical connector before you lower the vehicle.
