How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2005 Cadillac CTS?

Before starting the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor replacement process turn the ignition OFF while supporting the vehicle from underneath. To access the sensor first move the wiring harness heat shield before removing the CKP electrical connector. Begin by removing the bolt from the crankshaft sensor followed by extracting that sensor. The new crankshaft position sensor installation requires bolt attachment followed by tightening to 10 N.m (89 lb in) according to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Following the CKP electrical connector reinstallation, perform the following sequence: position the wiring harness heat shield on the oil level indicator tube and gradually lower the vehicle.
