How to replace the Back Up Light Switch on Cadillac CTS?

The replacement of the back up lamp switch requires you to first raise the vehicle before getting a proper support system in place. Remove the back up lamp switch wire harness from its bracket then disconnect the back up lamp switch electrical connector. With a Snap-On VSM5222 (22 mm angle head open end wrench) or an equivalent tool remove the back up lamp switch. Apply GM P/N 1052080 or an equivalent Teflon content pipe sealant to threads of back up lamp switch before installation. Set the back up lamp switch into position followed by tightening it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Prior to lowering the vehicle, reconnect the back up lamp switch wire harness to the bracket and plug in the back up lamp switch electrical connector.
