How to service and repair the Neutral Safety Switch on Chevrolet Tracker? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before servicing or repairing the transmission position switch/sensor users must disconnect the negative Battery Cable and remove the cooler lines. First detach a single electrical connection from the transmission range switch then extract the manual shaft components consisting of one nut, one washer and one manual lever connected to a cable. The lock plate behind the manual shaft nut needs unstaking before you remove the manual shaft nut alongside the lock plate from the transmission range switch. Detaching the transmission range switch from the manual shaft requires removal of 1 bolt. Set the transmission range switch using this process: attach the lock washer and set the nut and turn the manual shaft toward the back to set it to neutral position by moving 2 notches then secure it with 1 bolt which should remain loose. Tighten the set nut to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.) take the lock washer and bend its claws around the installation area. Next align the transmission range switch's neutral reference line to its cut out then tighten the retaining bolt to 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). Perform manual shaft cable installation using 1 washer and 1 nut which requires tightening to 13 nm (115 inch lbs.). You should first block the wheels of your vehicle before you connect the negative Battery Cable and engage the parking brake. To confirm the Starter motor functions properly place the transmission range selector lever in park during a start ignition cycle with the Ignition Switch activated. After starting the engine return the switch to on position. Start by moving the shift selector from park to neutral then turn the Ignition Switch to start. Verify that the Starter operates correctly but avoid engaging positions d, 2, l or r.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Back Up Light Switch and replace the tail lamp assembly along with the bulbs on Chevrolet Tracker? Posted by Customer
    A:
A technician should first remove the two screws securing the tail lamp before accessing the bulb sockets of back up lamp switch and tail lamp assembly with their attached sidemarker stop and turn signal bulbs. Pulling the tail lamp toward you reveals access to the sockets that control turn signal and back up and tail/stop lamp functions. Twist the turn signal bulb socket counterclockwise from the tail lamp assembly before removing the turn signal bulb when needed. To remove the back up lamp bulb socket twist it counterclockwise before taking out both the lamp and its bulb. To remove the tail/stop lamp bulb socket twist it counterclockwise and then remove the bulb as needed. Remove the tail lamp from the vehicle by disconnecting its electrical connector. Begin by installing the bulb into the tail/stop lamp socket before tightening it clockwise into the tail lamp assembly. The installation process should be repeated twice. First for the back up lamp bulb and socket and secondly for the turn signal lamp bulb and socket. Attach the tail lamp electrical connector and fasten the tail lamp to its mounting position through two screws.
