Hazard Switch

The SIR system requires disabling before starting the replacement process for the hazard warning switch. The I/P cluster trim plate must be removed from the I/P carrier to disconnect either the dimmer switch electrical connector or not. Users should begin by disconnecting the hazard warning switch electrical connector before using a small flat-bladed tool to free its retaining tabs. Start by pushing on the hazard warning switch at its back location through the I/P cluster trim plate until the switch frees from its position. The new hazard warning switch installation requires users to align it with the I/P cluster trim plate opening before pushing it inward to achieve complete seating. The electrical connections should be reattached to the hazard warning switch and to the dimmer switch electrical connector if necessary. After enabling the SIR system replace the I/P cluster trim plate back onto the I/P carrier.

Disabling the SIR system is essential before starting the process to replace the hazard warning switch on the vehicle. Start by taking off the Instrument Panel (IP) cluster trim plate from its position on the IP carrier while connecting the dimmer switch electrical connector if needed. Follow this step by disconnecting the hazard warning switch electrical connector after which a small flat-bladed tool helps release the retaining tabs of the hazard warning switch. You can remove the hazard warning switch through the back side of the IP cluster trim plate by pushing it outward. To install the new hazard warning switch fit its opening within the IP cluster trim plate before pushing it towards the inside until it secures properly. Complete the electrical connection of the hazard warning switch and do so also with the dimmer switch if needed. Reinstall the IP cluster trim plate onto the IP carrier after enabling the SIR system.

Disabling the sir system should be the first step before attempting to replace the Hazard Warning Switch of the vehicle. Start by pulling out the instrument panel cluster trim plate from its position on the ip carrier then break the electrical connection of the dimmer switch if needed. The first step disconnects the Hazard Warning Switch electrical connector. A small flat-bladed tool should be used to depress the tabs so the Hazard Warning Switch can be released from the instrument panel cluster trim plate followed by removing the switch by pulling it outward while keeping the plate in place. The new Hazard Warning Switch should be pushed inward through the trim plate while maintaining pressure on this plate until full seat is achieved. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate back to the ip carrier after connecting the Hazard Warning Switch electrical connector with the dimmer switch electrical connector if required. Finally, enable the sir system.

Push outward on the hazard warning switch from the back side of the I/P cluster trim plate to remove it.

First, disable the SIR system.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the hazard warning switch.
