    Q:
How to replace the power seat switch on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin your replacement of the power seat switch by regulating the front seat to its uppermost position before you angle the seat cushion front section to reveal the fasteners. Start by taking off the fasteners linking the cushion to the adjuster before disconnecting heated electrical connectors and air supply lines to the lumbar if the seats have this feature. Start by taking out the knobs that exist on the switch while also extracting the two push pins located inside the switch trim plate near its bottom edge. The release mechanism located on the bottom of the switch plate allows the removal of switch trim plate. First extract the J channels from the seat cushion before you peel back the front seat cushion cover to access and reveal the switch. J 38778 (J 38778) allows you to detach switch bracket retainers before freeing the locking tabs on the switch bracket while sliding the seat switch off the seat bottom. First disconnect the wiring connection from the switch then remove it along with its bracket from the system. The installation process requires inserting the switch into its bracket before connecting the electrical connector with the seat switch. Put the seat switch with its bracket onto the seat bottom after installing the seat switch bracket retainers into position. Use the seat cover to return it downward while ensuring that the holes match with the switch assembly before installing the J channels. Users should install the seat switch trim plate and knobs on the switches after aligning the front seat cushion and frame assembly with the seat adjuster and connecting the front heated seat cushion electrical connectors and lumbar air lines if their vehicle is equipped with this functionality. Use the rear part of the seat cushion and frame assembly to connect it with the seat adjuster by pushing down on the front part to lock the studs in seat adjuster position. Finish by installing seat cushion and frame assembly fasteners and tighten them to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

    Q:
How to replace the power seat switch on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disabling the sir system should be the initial step when replacing the power Seat Switch. Before working on fasteners located at the back of the front seat cushion assembly adjust both the front assembly and the seat up and forward. First remove the rear fasteners before moving the front seat assembly toward the back of the vehicle. A proper angle of the front seat cushion section reveals the access to front fasteners while allowing you to remove them. When removing the front seat cushion assembly maintain the position of the lumbar switch knob as it is part of the lumbar switch assembly. Extract the installed knobs from the Seat Switch and the Seat Switch trim plate bezel. The door trim pad clip remover (J 38778) tool allows removal of switch bracket retainers after lifting the front seat cushion cover to reveal the Seat Switch. First detach the locking mechanisms of the switch mounting bracket then take out the switches and bracket assembly from the seat bottom frame. A flat-bladed tool will help you remove the switch from the mounting bracket before you disconnect the electrical connector from the seat switches. Begin by connecting the electrical connector to the switch before you install the switch to the mounting bracket and fix the seat switches to the seat bottom frame. After placing the switch bracket retainers in the seat bottom frame position the seat cover down while lining up holes on the cover to the switch assembly. After installing the front fasteners onto the seat cushion assembly it is possible to adjust the front seat assembly up and forward to access the rear fasteners which should be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The front section of the front seat cushion needs to be tilted while installing front fasteners that need to be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Enable the sir system after installing the knob and switch trim plate bezel to their respective positions.
