    Q:
How to service the thermostat on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service the Thermostat, you would remove the negative Battery Cable as well as draining the coolant to below the Thermostat, collecting the coolant as required. The radiator coolant outlet pipe attaching bolts and the coolant outlet must be removed and the Thermostat has to be removed next. Clean the mating surfaces of the radiator outlet and radiator outlet pipe prior to install a new Thermostat. Next, fit the coolant outlet and the attached bolts and tighten them at 14 nm (124 inchlbs). Truck don't forget to refill the engine coolant with dex-cool (R) coolant without using silicated coolant to avoid premature corrosion, attach the negative Battery Cable. Finally, inspect for any leaks.
