    Q:
How to replace the thermostat on a 2.0L engine on Chevrolet Tracker? Posted by Customer
    A:
Engine coolant needs draining before beginning Thermostat replacement work on a 2.0l engine. Use the appropriate tool to remove three bolts from the A/C Compressor then set the compressor to the side. Start by loosening the clamp on the Radiator hose at the Thermostat Housing then remove the hose. The next step requires removing three bolts and the Thermostat Housing before finally extracting both the Thermostat and its o-ring from the housing. Clean off any corrosion and debris found on the Thermostat Housing before making sure both mating surfaces remain debris-free. Check the Thermostat condition before adding it into the system. The air bleed valve needs to be positioned opposite the Cylinder Head mark before installing the Thermostat in its proper location together with a new o-ring. Install the Thermostat Housing by using three bolts while tightening them to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Secure the A/C Compressor with three bolts which must be tightened to 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Begin by connecting the Radiator hose together with its clamp to the Thermostat Housing before adding approved coolant to the Radiator and starting up the engine. The coolant needs to achieve normal operating temperatures while you ensure the flow of coolant reaches the Radiator through both hoses which should feel hot. After inspecting the cooling system for leaks drivers should turn off the engine before setting the Radiator Cap in position.
